This sweet little amigurumi bunny makes the perfect handmade gift for baby showers, birthdays, or just because. Standing about 10 inches tall, this cuddly friend features floppy ears, an embroidered face, and a fluffy pom-pom tail. Once you make one, you’ll want to create a whole family!

Materials Needed

  • Worsted weight yarn in main color (approximately 150 yards)
  • Small amount of pink yarn for inner ears and nose
  • Black embroidery floss for eyes and mouth
  • 3.5mm (E) crochet hook
  • Polyester fiberfill stuffing
  • Safety eyes (9mm) – optional alternative to embroidered eyes
  • Tapestry needle
  • Stitch marker

Approximately 10″ tall (25cm)

Head (worked in continuous rounds)

Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR. (6)

Rnd 2: Inc in each st around. (12)

Rnd 3: [Sc 1, inc] x 6. (18)

Rnd 4: [Sc 2, inc] x 6. (24)

Rnd 5: [Sc 3, inc] x 6. (30)

Rnd 6: [Sc 4, inc] x 6. (36)

Rnds 7–14: Sc in each st around. (36)

Rnd 15: [Sc 4, dec] x 6. (30)

Rnd 16: [Sc 3, dec] x 6. (24)

Insert safety eyes between Rnds 10–11, about 8 stitches apart. Stuff firmly.

Rnd 17: [Sc 2, dec] x 6. (18)

Rnd 18: [Sc 1, dec] x 6. (12)

Rnd 19: Dec x 6. (6)

Fasten off and close the hole.

Body

Rnds 1–6: Work same as Head Rnds 1–6. (36)

Rnds 7–18: Sc in each st around. (36)

Rnds 19–22: Decrease evenly as with the head. Stuff before closing.

Ears (make 2)

Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR. (6)

Rnd 2: [Sc 1, inc] x 3. (9)

Rnds 4–18: Sc in each st around. (12)

Do not stuff. Flatten and sew to the top of the head.

Arms & Legs

Follow a similar increase pattern starting with 6 sc in MR, increasing to 12, working even for several rounds, then decreasing. Stuff lightly and attach to body.

Finishing

Embroider the nose and mouth with pink yarn and black embroidery floss. Create a small pom-pom for the tail and attach it to the back of the body. Sew all pieces together securely.
