Pattern Instructions
Foundation: With Color A, ch 195 (or any multiple of 24 + 3).
Row 1: Dc in the 4th ch from hook. Dc in the next 9 ch. *3 dc in next ch (peak), dc in next 10 ch, dc2tog, sk 1 ch, dc2tog, dc in next 10 ch.* Repeat * to * across, ending with 3 dc in next ch, dc in last 11 ch. (8 ripple peaks)
Row 2: Ch 3, turn. Dc in the next 10 sts. *3 dc in next st (center of peak), dc in next 10 sts, dc2tog, sk next st, dc2tog, dc in next 10 sts.* Repeat * to * across, ending with 3 dc in peak st, dc in last 11 sts.
Rows 3–6: Repeat Row 2 with Color A.
Rows 7–12: Change to Color B. Repeat Row 2.
Rows 13–18: Change to Color C. Repeat Row 2.
Continue alternating colors in 6-row stripes until the afghan reaches your desired length.
Color Change Tip
When changing colors, complete the last dc of the row with the new color (pull the new color through the last 2 loops on the hook). This creates a clean color transition. You can either carry the unused yarn along the edge or cut and weave in ends for each stripe.
Border (optional)
Work 1 round of sc evenly around the entire blanket, following the ripple shaping along the top and bottom edges. This helps to neaten the sides.
